There’s no denying that Alexander Ovechkin is one of the better goal-scorers on this Earth, but it looks like the Capitals winger may have added some A+ diving skills to his repertoire over the offseason. Ovechkin managed to draw a call on PK Subban in the Caps’ season-opener against the Canadiens on Thursday night and, after consulting the replay, it was confirmed to be an absolutely laughable embellishment on the part of the Russian.
Ovechkin’s dive wasn’t caught by the officials but, per new NHL rules, he’ll likely receive a letter from the league’s office as a result:
