Florida Panthers prospect and current San Antonio Rampage forward, Scott Timmins, goes hard on his days off. He was arrested on Monday night in San Antonio for allegedly (and drunkenly) breaking into the home of Benjamin Garza, whose wife and three kids found him sleeping like a baby on their living room couch.
Now imagine—just for a minute—that you wake up to find this dude passed out in your living room.
Not a good situation.
Fortunately for Timmins, Benjamin Garza wasn’t home at the time of the discovery, but according to KENS5 reporter Karen Grace, he later told the hockey player, “You’re lucky I wasn’t here because I would’ve put a bullet between your eyes and it would’ve been over for you.” Oh snap! Garza ain’t messing around. This is Texas after all.
To be fair, Timmins thought he was in his own home, which should be a pretty good indicator of his intoxication level. From KENS5,
The police report states that when Garza’s wife found Timmins sitting on her couch, she asked him who he was, to which he responded, “Don’t worry about that.”
“He was yelling, ‘What are you doing in my house,'” said Garza. “My wife said, ‘You need to get the hell out of here,'” added Garza. She was able to escape through a back door with her kids.
No comments have come from the Rampage or Panthers organization yet. Timmins made his first and only NHL appearance for the Panthers on February 26th. He has nine goals and seven assists with the Rampage, who are scheduled to play the Oklahoma City Barons tomorrow. Something tells me Timmins won’t be in the lineup.
So the moral of the story here is to always drink in moderation double lock your doors at night if you don’t want to find the second-coming of Christ passed out in your living room.
