In the days and weeks leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft, Will Levis was fairly consistently considered one of the top quarterbacks in the draft and was projected as a first-round pick by nearly every single mock draft. But in a shocking twist, not only was he not one of the top picks in the draft but he slid out of the first round entirely before he was selected by the Tennessee Titans at the top of the second round. And it sounds like he still uses that as motivation.
During a recent press conference, Will Levis admitted that he still feels a bit of a chip on ship shoulder as a result of his slide to the draft, and now he just wants to prove the Titans correct in their assessment of him.
“It definitely leaves a little bit of a chip on my shoulder and makes me want to go out there and work and keep showing people that teams might have made a mistake by not taking me,” Levis said according to Albert Breer of SI.com. “Hopefully I’m that guy that they talk about that did slip, and I can be that example for other kids that are in that same position in the green room like me. . . . I’m trying to prove this organization right.”
We’ll have to see how Levis looks this upcoming season, but he looked strong in his debut season with the Titans.
