The Minnesota Vikings will be playing in the biggest game of the weekend and the regular-season finale on Sunday. The Vikings are gearing up to face their division-rival Detroit Lions in a game that will decide who gets the number one overall seed in the NFC the first-round bye that comes with it and who will have to go on the road for the first round.
A lot of the Vikings’s surprising success this season can be attributed to the resurgent play of veteran Sam Darnold, who was officially named a Pro Bowler on Thursday. However, Darnold’s play has created a wrinkle for Minnesota.
The Vikings drafted star quarterback JJ McCarthy in the first round of the NFL draft. Unfortunately, McCarthy’s debut season was cut short when he suffered a season-ending meniscus injury in the preseason.
Now the Vikings have a decision to make on which quarterback to roll with moving forward and reports are coming out on which one they plan on listening to offers for.
“The (Vikings) will likely receive trade inquires for rookie quarterback JJ McCarthy this offseason, per (Adam Schefter),” reported one NFL-centric Twitter account.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Why trade him? Vikings are already a solid team. Keep JJ and have him learn behind Darnold,” 0ne fan wrote on Twitter.
“Bad move, if they decide to trade him. They should let him develop. Any player is tradeable for the right price, McCarthy’s should be a high price,” another fan added.
“He has not really shown anything yet so it is hard to imagine him getting much interest,” added one fan.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Vikings decide to do.
