On Monday, the San Francisco 49ers traded tight end Vernon Davis to the Denver Broncos, thus ending Vernon’s 10 year run with the team.
With the news still fresh on the interwebs, 49ers wide receiver Torrey Smith was able to grab a quick video of Vernon, where he asked the new Bronco to “say goodbye to the folks.”
Vernon responded with some words of gratitude and a huge smile.
“Hey, see y’all later man. It’s been a journey man and I appreciate it.”
It’s impossible to fault Davis for being being in good spirits over news of the trade. After all, he gets to go from an NFC bottom-dweller that won’t give a vouch of confidence to its starting quarterback to an undefeated team that just convincingly handed the Green Bay Packers its first loss of the season.
