Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa reportedly skipped the bulk of the team’s voluntary offseason workouts for the first time in his NFL career as he seeks a new contract with the team. But when the Dolphins began their OTAs on Monday, Tagovailoa was present with the team.
According to a report from NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Tua Tagovailoa decided to attend the team’s OTAs even though he does not yet have a new contract from the Dolphins.
“Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is in the building for the start of Dolphins OTAs, per source. The QB is slated to become the next quarterback to receive a big payday, but the sides are in negotiations. Tagovailoa said he was planning on attending the workouts,” Russini said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Obviously, this is a pretty important decision from Tagovailoa and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.

As Tagovailoa heads into the final season of his rookie deal, the two sides have expressed eagerness to work out a contract extension to keep him in Miami for the foreseeable future. We’ll have to see when that gets done.
