Tua Tagovailoa has reportedly been absent for the vast majority of voluntary offseason workouts for the Miami Dolphins this offseason amid his contract negotiations, which is uncharacteristic of him considering he’d never skipped the workouts throughout his first four offseasons with the team. But when the team began OTAs on Monday, it sounds like Tagovailoa decided to participate.
According to a report from NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Tua Tagovailoa decided to attend Miami Dolphins OTAs even though he has not been able to work out a contract extension with the team just yet.
“Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is in the building for the start of Dolphins OTAs, per source. The QB is slated to become the next quarterback to receive a big payday, but the sides are in negotiations. Tagovailoa said he was planning on attending the workouts,” Russini said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Tagovailo and the Dolphins have both expressed confidence that the two sides would be able to work out a contract extension this offseason as he heads into the final season of his rookie deal. We’ll have to see how that goes.
