Travis Kelce Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports

Last week, longtime sideline reporter Michele Tafoya claimed that she believed Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce would join his brother in retirement at the end of the season. But in his most recent podcast episode, Kelce didn’t sound like a guy who was about to walk away from football.

During a bonus episode of his “New Heights” podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis Kelce discussed how the game of football keeps drawing him back in and how he hasn’t found anything else he’d rather do.

“I haven’t found something outside of football that’s going to challenge me like playoff football,” Kelce said according to the New York Post. “And I don’t know if I’ll ever find that. And that’s one of the things that’ll make me play this game until the wheels fall off. I know that I get to accept these challenges and these difficult games, these difficult matchups, the question of whether or not we’ll prevail — and coming up big for the guys next to me.

“It’s an energy and an excitement that I haven’t found anywhere else in the world, and it’s something that I definitely cherish.”

While Kelce didn’t specifically refute or address the report from Tafoya, this certainly sounds like he plans to keep playing football.
