Throughout the Kansas City Chiefs run through the NFL playoffs, there has been a lot of speculation that star tight end Travis Kelce could choose to retire following the season, given his relationship with Taylor Swift and the fact that his brother and podcast partner seems to be headed toward retirement. But it looks like Kelce will be back with the Chiefs next season, after all.
During his postgame press conference, Travis Kelce made it very clear that he has no intention of walking away from football just yet, announcing that he plans to be a part of the Kansas City Chiefs roster next year as they pursue a third consecutive Super Bowl title.
“The goal is always to get three (in a row),” Kelce said according to The Athletic. “But we couldn’t get here without getting to two and having that target on our back all year. I love these guys right here. The men that we just won this thing with? Family forever, baby. I couldn’t be prouder of these guys. And how about it? We get a chance to do it three times in a row.”
Obviously, this is a pretty significant announcement, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.
If they lost he would’ve said “I’m taking my time to weigh my options this off season” https://t.co/oSq6Jk172O

Chiefs 8-9 next season. AFC finally done rebuilding and a lot of teams getting their stars back off of injury

No team has ever won the Super Bowl three times in a row. It’s clear that Kelce wants to be a part of history.
