On Monday afternoon, the Kansas City Chiefs made a pretty significant move for superstar tight end Travis Kelce, signing him to a new two-year contract extension that makes him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL. But when the team announced the extension, they also made a statement that angered a lot of New England Patriots fans.
In a post on social media, the Chiefs announced that they had signed Travis Kelce to a two-year contract extension and boldly referred to him as “the greatest tight end ever.”
“We signed the greatest tight end ever to a new contract,” the Chiefs said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, New England Patriots fans were not all that happy about that declaration as they believe that Rob Gronkowski – not Travis Kelce – is the greatest tight end of all time, and they certainly let the Chiefs know about it on social media.

Obviously, both players have had stellar careers and have legitimate arguments that they should hold the title of the greatest tight end in NFL history.
The good news for Kelce is he can still add to his legacy while Gronk is now retired.
