It certainly has not been an easy year for Travis Kelce as he has had to balance the demands of practice with a new high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift in addition to his responsibilities with the media and his endorsement deals. But even as life has gotten progressively busier lately, that has not stopped him from remaining dedicated to taking care of his body.
Alex Skacel has been the physical therapist of Travis Kelce for the past seven years as he tries his best to keep the superstar tight end healthy, fit, and able to play. And he spoke pretty highly of how Kelce takes care of his body as he ages even despite his insanely busy schedule.
“A lot of the things we do address are the things that you would see break down on an athlete as they age,” Skacel said according to ESPN. “His schedule has always been crazy, but he makes sure wherever he goes, he’s going to get his work in.”
Kelce also shows extreme dedication in what sort of injuries he’s played through over the course of his career. Skacel describes the number of injuries Kelce has sustained as “countless,” but they rarely keep him off the field.
“He may not be 100% every week, but he’s still going to play,” Skacel said. “That’s such an important aspect of him as a competitor. If you’re not 100%, you have to be in it to win it to even get out there, having a desire to compete with teammates no matter how you’re feeling. He has that.”
It’s clear that Kelce is extremely dedicated to his craft.
