Legendary NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens has not played a regular season NFL game since the 2010 season with the Cincinnati Bengals, but it turns out that he actually tried to make a comeback in 2021, only to get shut down by Tom Brady. And it sounds like he’s still bitter about it.
During a recent appearance on the Bubba Dub Show, Terrell Owens revealed that he reached out to Tom Brady about joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their playoff run after Antonio Brown abruptly left the team late in the season. But according to Owens, Brady ghosted him and never replied.
“Tom Brady ignored me,” Owens said according to Pro Football Talk. “The year that AB went crazy . . . they just needed somebody to fill some holes with AB leaving at the receiver position. I reached out to him through Randy and some other people, just to come in and play third down and red zone situations. This dude ignored me. It just shows you the lack of respect there, but then when they get in front of you they want to act like they respect you.”
Needless to say, this led to a lot of reactions on social media.
His last catch was in 2010…the top movies were Iron Man 2, Toy Story 3 and the original Avatar and California Gurls by Katie Perry and Donald Trump was in year two of the Apprentice. But Brady and the Bucs disrespected him for not picking him up 2 years ago?

Every year for more than a decade, we think we’re going to get through a season without T.O. talking about coming back to the NFL. And every year, we fail. https://t.co/fsUcBA1w8Q

Why would Brady entertain a 48-yr old ex-receiver who last played in the NFL a decade ago? https://t.co/U2HRi3EZVr

How dare Brady not force the Bucs sign a 48 year old who hadn’t played football in over 10 years https://t.co/fA8PRskP12
