With his playing career over, Tom Brady is now beginning his career as a part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. And now, he’s taking on his first big task in his new role – helping choose a new coach.
On Wednesday, the Las Vegas Raiders officially fired head coach Antonio Pierce after just one season with the team.
As the team begins their search for a new head coach, it sounds like Tom Brady will be involved in the whole process.
According to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, Brady is set to be a part of a “collaborative committee” that will help choose a new head coach for the team.
“Raiders limited owner Tom Brady is expected to be part of a collaborative committee to interview head coaching candidates and support team owner Mark Davis, per league sources,” Schefter said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Brady was officially confirmed as a part owner of the Raiders just a few months ago following quite a few hangups.
It took several months for the other league owners to confirm Brady’s ownership stake due to concerns about a discount Brady was receiving on the sale as well as his current role as a broadcaster and analyst with Fox.
Though he does have a set of special rules that he must follow, Brady has now been confirmed as a part owner of the team, and it sounds like they’re already leaning on his expertise.
