Longtime New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will not be coaching in the NFL next season after he failed to get another coaching job after parting ways with the Patriots following the season. And Tom Brady is quite surprised by that.
During the latest episode of his Let’s Go! podcast this week, Tom Brady offered his reaction to Bill Belichick not getting another job, calling him “the greatest coach ever,” and expressed his surprise that he did not get another NFL coaching job.
“I don’t know the criteria for hiring coaches. I’ve never been a part of it, I mean, I’m surprised that the greatest coach ever doesn’t have a job, absolutely. But I’m surprised [by] a lot of things in the NFL,” Brady said on the podcast according to ESPN.
Brady also pointed out that he had his fair share of doubters as well when he left the Patriots, too.
“When I was a free agent, there [were] a lot of teams that didn’t want me,” Brady said.
Belichick might get another shot at an NFL coaching job during the 2025 season after coaches are inevitably fired next year. But for now, the six-time Super Bowl champion will not be on the sidelines.
