The Pittsburgh Steelers are doing their best to hold off the Baltimore Ravens in a tight two-horse race for the AFC North. Unfortunately for the Steelers, Defensive Player of the Year candidate TJ Watt suffered a brutal injury on Sunday in the team’s 27-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Thanks to one prominent league insider, we know the severity of Watt’s injury.
“A rolled ankle for TJ Watt. Or, low-ankle, as (Steelers) coach Mike Tomlin described it,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport after the game.

Fans reacted to Watt’s low ankle sprain on social media.
“Nothing he hasn’t seen before. Will probably force himself to play on Saturday but shouldn’t,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“A handful of opiates and Toradol each day and he’ll be good to go by next Sunday,” another fan added.
“Whining again cause he didn’t get defensive player of year,” one fan added.
“Hell likely play on Saturday I’d guess,” one fan added, referencing the Steelers’ upcoming game against the Baltimore Ravens, where the team can clinch the AFC North with a victory.
It’ll be interesting to see if Watt can go on Saturday, and if he isn’t it’ll be just as interesting to see who steps up for Pittsburgh in his place.
