Tim Tebow says it’s hard to watch football because he thinks he can still play

Tim Tebow’s NFL career was short and largely a bust considering the hype the former quarterback had coming out of Florida. But still, the now-minor league baseball player thinks he could again play.

Speaking on the ‘Journeys of Faith with Paula Faris’ podcast, Tebow admitted he gets frustrated when watching NFL football because he thinks he can still ball.

“It’s still hard sometimes when I watch games and I’m thinking, ‘I can totally do that.’ Or, ‘I can be doing this or playing here or crushing that!'”

The 31-year-old put up mediocre numbers in three NFL seasons split between Denver and New York, completing just 47.9 percent of his passes in his career. So, while Tebow might physically feel good enough to play still, he’s just not talented enough to ever play in the NFL again.

Tebow said God told him to transition to baseball, where he’s pretty much the same type of performer. Playing well above his age range in Double-A in the New York Mets organization, Tebow hit .273 with a .336 OBP, with six home runs and 36 RBI in 84 games with Binghamton in 2018. He’s expected to play at Triple-A this season.

You got to love Tebow’s confidence, even if it’s misplaced. Once a competitor, always a competitor.
