Jordy Nelson’s ACL injury stunned the football world over the weekend and although it’s a depressingly shocking injury for one of the game’s elite players, it shouldn’t be the least bit surprising what type of injury it is. He joins a very long list of NFL players that are also ruled out for the entire 2015 season after tearing their anterior cruciate ligaments.
There are technically enough guys on this ACL list to fill out starting lineups on both sides of the ball, but we’d still need a couple defensive and offensive lineman to have real starting lineups. But that’s besides the point. The point is that a whopping 23 players are already lost for the 2015 season after tearing their ACL in recent weeks or months:

The list might be 23-deep but there’s a 100 percent chance that it grows before the start of the regular season in less than three weeks and continues to swell throughout the season.
