The Tennessee Titans have a new coach this offseason as Brian Callahan takes over for Mike Vrabel, who was fired earlier this year. One of Callahan’s biggest and most important tasks as he takes over as the new head coach will be building his roster, and there’s one player he quite clearly wants on the team.
During an appearance on 102.7 The Game, Brian Callahan made it clear that he would love to have Derrick Henry back on the team next year, saying “I’m never going to say no to good players.”
“I think a player like Derrick Henry fits into any offense,” Callahan said. “He’s been a remarkable player, he’s been the face of the franchise here for a long time. When you think of the Tennessee Titans, you think of Derrick Henry. He’s earned that. If he is open to a return that fits for us, I’m never going to say no to good players.

“I know that he’s been an incredible leader in this building as well, which also carries a lot of weight. You can find ways to use every player. There’s no offensive system that would say ‘I don’t like to have Derrick Henry here.’”
Obviously, there’s a lot more that goes into it than just simply wanting Henry back with the team. The Titans will have to figure out a contract and how he fits into their salary cap. But it is clear that Callahan would love to have Henry back next season.
