Ever since global pop superstar Taylor Swift began dating Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, she has been a mainstay at Chiefs’ games throughout the season and as a result has attracted some attention from broadcast cameras during games. But one prominent NFL coach and trainer is not happy with the amount of air time she has received during games.
Quincy Avery is a prominent private quarterbacks coach and trainer who has worked with several college and NFL stars including Deshaun Watson, C.J. Stroud, Jalen Hurts, Justin Fields, Jordan Love, Dwayne Haskins, Malik Willis and Trey Lance.
And ahead of Sunday’s AFC Championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens, Avery expressed his displeasure with Taylor Swift being shown on the broadcast.
“I really don’t want to see Taylor Swift during the game tomorrow. I do not care that your kid will now ask you questions about football because they show her,” Avery said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this was not a popular opinion from the quarterbacks coach, and Avery was quickly blasted for it on social media with one person going as far as to call him a “gigantic baby.”

One of the funniest things about this NFL season is truly a bunch of dudes throwing tantrums over the camera cutting to Taylor Swift every now and then. You’re talking about NFL games that have a million commercials for like 15 minutes of game action, but this is the line. https://t.co/9SMxRfOqYU

Or guess what, you could just not watch? https://t.co/1u82i0NsK2

People being this upset about Taylor Swift being shown on camera for a matter of seconds will forever blow my mind…
I’ll die on this hill:
Taylor Swift has done nothing but good things for football. I actually can’t think of a single negative thing her being at games has done. https://t.co/Ofn2KGb7b2

When they show her…. close your eyes. Then you don’t have to see her. This perspective is beyond played out. https://t.co/byvYVe89Nv

They show her like 4 or 5 times. It’s very minimally invasive to the viewing experience if you aren’t a gigantic baby. https://t.co/qGKU8J5w2L

Obviously, Swift was shown during the broadcast and Avery seems to have survived.
