Ever since she began dating Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce, global pop sensation Taylor Swift has been in attendance for several different Chiefs games where she has clearly been quite invested in the games. And it sounds like she wishes she would have begun her football fandom a little earlier.
In an interview with TIME where she was named the magazine’s Person of the Year, Taylor Swift made it clear that she very much enjoys football now, jokingly saying that she’s “been missing out” not following the sport closely before now.
“Football is awesome, it turns out,” Swift told TIME playfully. “I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
Swift obviously gets a lot of attention from broadcast cameras every time she is in attendance for a game, but she says she has no idea when she is being shown or how often she shows up on the broadcast.
“I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she says. “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”
Swift has no idea how much attention the broadcast gives her during games, but she doesn’t really seem to care all that much, either.
“I’m just there to support Travis,” she says. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
