Over the past several years, Taylor Swift has established herself as one of the most popular recording artists and individuals on the planet and her fame has only been amplified when he relationship with Travis Kelce brought her into the world of sports, too. Needless to say, it’s generally unwise for a prominent individual to speak negatively about Swift and draw the wrath of her massive fanbase. But Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl did just that this week.
During a recent concert, Dave Grohl implied that Taylor Swift and her band don’t play their instruments during her live performances as he joked that the Foo Fighters call their tour the “Errors Tour” since they “actually play live.”
“We like to call our tour the ‘Errors Tour,’” Grohl said according to CNN. “We’ve had more than a few eras, and more than a few [freaking] errors as well. Just a couple. That’s because we actually play live.”
Several members of the audience booed, prompting Grohl to address the crowd.
“What?! Just saying. You guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the right [freaking] place,” Grohl said.
Grohl did seem to understand the backlash that comes with criticizing Swift, though.
“I tell you, man, you don’t want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift,” Grohl said.
But it seems a little bit too late for that now.
