Before Travis Kelce began dating Taylor Swift, he was in a relationship with influencer and TV host Kayla Nicole. As a result of that previous relationship, Nicole has faced a lot of harassment from Taylor Swift fans, and she isn’t exactly happy about it.
During a recent interview, Kayla Nicole opened up a little bit about the harassment she receives from Taylor Swift fans, admitting that the online hate does impact her.
“I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and just like online chaos doesn’t impact me. It does,” Nicole told WNBA star Angel Reese during a recent interview on the Unapologetically Angel podcast, according to Glamour.
“You could go to my most recent post, and there will be people debating each other why I am worthless, and I’ll never be a talented person, and I have no career.”
Nicole said that she and Kelce can’t even “acknowledge each other” in public for fear of the reaction it would cause from fans.
Nicole went on to suggest that Taylor Swift “attracts crazy people” to her fanbase.
“I think that there’s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people, and it’s unfortunate, because I’ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash,” she said.
But it sounds like Nicole is trying her best not to let it impact what she shares about her life as she prepares for people to watch her on season three of Special Forces.
“I would say I’m the opposite of being afraid of what people are going to see. I’m actually excited for people to see us stripped down, raw, vulnerable,” she told Page Six during a recent press event. “I think people in general, the general public, need to be reminded that we’re all humans, right? We all have very real emotions. And I’m excited about that element [of] allowing us to be humans.”
We’ll have to see how she is able to move forward after all the hate she received.
