The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to host the Baltimore Ravens for perhaps their biggest game of the season in Week 11 against their bitter rivals, the Baltimore Ravens. And while there are numerous players that Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is worried about in the matchup, one former Steelers star is not one of them.
Two weeks ago, the Ravens made what looked like a significant move on paper, trading for former Pro Bowl wide receiver Diontae Johnson.
Thus far, Johnson has not factored much into the Ravens offense, catching just one pass in the two games he has played for the Ravens to this point.
While that could be due to him still learning the offensive system, Mike Tomlin is not worried about Johnson in their matchup this weekend. When asked about game planning to stop Johnson, Tomlin bluntly insinuated that he is the least of the Steelers’ worries.
“They got more significant pieces with larger roles that are occupying my attention,” said Tomlin during an appearance on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
Johnson and Tomlin have some obvious history together, with Johnson spending the first five years of his career with the Steelers playing under Tomlin. So obviously, Tomlin isn’t exactly missing Johnson’s impact on the Steelers all that much…
Regardless, this could certainly provide some bulletin board material for Johnson to show his worth to his former head coach in a big way during Sunday’s matchup.
