One month after Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Charles Snowden was first arrested on drunk driving charges, new details regarding the incident are being made public.
According to 8 News Now, new body cam footage from the Dec. 10 arrest shows that Snowden thought he was in Florida at the time he was arrested in Las Vegas last month.
Blood tests later revealed that the former Virginia star’s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit when police found him asleep and unresponsive in a running SUV. Snowden was arrested and charged with “DUI of alcohol and/or controlled or prohibited substance” as a result of the incident.
Following the arrest, the Raiders released the following statement:
“The Raiders are aware of the incident involving Charles Snowden and have been in contact with the NFL and local authorities. The club will not comment further as this is a legal matter.”
An arraignment has reportedly been scheduled for April.
After earning second-team All-ACC honors during his college career at Virginia, Snowden entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears in 2021. Following his rookie campaign in Chicago, he spent time on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad in 2022 before being released ahead of the 2023 season.
Snowden was promoted to Las Vegas’ active roster in September. He appeared in 16 games (nine starts), tallying 39 tackles, 1.5 sacks and four pass defenses during the 2024 campaign.
