It sounds like former Maryland Terrapins quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa – the younger brother of Miami Dolphins star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa – is getting his shot in the NFL.
Taulia Tagovailoa ultimately went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft over the weekend, but it sounds like he will have a chance to show what he can do with the Seattle Seahawks, according to NFL insider Mike Garafolo.
“Former Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa will participate in the #Seahawks’ rookie camp this coming weekend, source says. Seattle is currently carrying three QBs on the roster, including Chevon Cordeiro, who signed as an undrafted free agent from San Jose State,” Garafolo said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Taulia Tagovailoa tried to return to Maryland for one final season of college football, but he was denied a waiver for another season of eligibility by the NCAA. This decision from the NCAA forced Taulia Tagovailoa to enter the NFL Draft instead of returning to college. And even though he wasn’t drafted, he is now getting a chance.
We’ll have to see whether or not Taulia Tagovailoa is able to earn a spot on the Seahawks roster this offseason.
