The Denver Broncos currently hold the No. 12 pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, which will likely be too late to select one of the league’s top quarterbacks. But it sounds like the Denver Broncos are at least considering trading up to potentially select a quarterback higher in the draft.
During a recent interview with NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Sean Payton was asked about the chances that the Denver Broncos could trade up in the draft. Payton said it would be “realistic,” and mentioned Arizona Cardinals general manager Monti Osenfort, who currently holds the No. 4 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
“Here at the AFC Coaches Breakfast, I asked #Broncos coach Sean Payton how realistic it was for him to be a potential trade-up team? ‘Realistic.’ He said they’ll look at it, and noted, ‘It’s good to be Monti (Ossenfort) right now.’ Hard to know what it will cost eventually…” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Obviously, it’s not clear whether or not the Broncos will make the move to acquire the No. 4 overall pick or what they’d have to give up, but it sounds like they are at least considering it.
