Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams are in the middle of a bit of a contract dispute as Stafford seeks more guaranteed money beyond the 2024 season. But head coach Sean McVay was not interested in talking about that situation.
During a press conference this week, Sean McVay was asked about the contract situation between the team and Matthew Stafford, but he declined to offer any comment, instead saying that he wanted to keep the conversation “in-house.”
“Out of respect for the situation, we’ll just keep it in-house,” McVay said according to Pro Football Talk. “What I am appreciative of is that he’s here leading the way and it’s been a good couple days for him.”
McVay was pressed again on the issue, but again he refused to talk about the situation.
“In house,” McVay said. “I respect the questions, I really do. But, you know, out of respect for just the totality of the situation and really, there’s just a lot of things that we want to be able to just keep in house. And if there is any information on that front, you guys will certainly know and maybe you’ll break it on your Twitter.”
We’ll have to see how it all shakes out between Stafford and the team, but he did decide to participate in OTAs even dispute the contract situation.
