The Seattle Seahawks are falling short of expectations under first-year head coach Mike Macdonald.
Seattle is 4-5 heading into this weekend’s matchup with the San Francisco 49ers. It looks like Seattle isn’t anticipating turning the season around, and has decided to cut costs where necessary. The Seahawks are letting go of one of the leaders of their defense, per one prominent league insider.
“A surprise: The (Seahawks) are releasing LB Tyrel Dodson, who has started every game this season, per (Brady Henderson). He has 71 tackles on the season,” reported league insider Ari Meirov.

“He must’ve done something bad lmao,” one fan said on Twitter.
“Oh wow he was clutch for them, weird,” one fan added.
“Wow!! Watch a team w/ no chance of getting to the playoffs picks him up,” one fan added.
“The tanking has begun. DK may stretch this injury out for the whole season,” one fan added.
“He was a real leader in the locker room. Who ever ends up with him is getting a DAWG,” added one person.
“Dan Morgan was in Buffalo when they drafted Dodson. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him try to sign him,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see where Dodson ends up.
