The Seattle Seahawks became the first team to clinch a spot in the NFC playoffs with a huge 34-7 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. Russell Wilson threw for 310 yards and three touchdowns and was also Seattle’s leading rusher with 47 yards. On this one play Wilson was more lucky than good after his pass intended for Kellen Davis, but he couldn’t catch it and the ball bounced off his facemask. Luckily, fullback Derrick Coleman was only a few yards away from him and snagged the loose ball and lunged towards the end zone for a touchdown. The Seahawks improved to 11-1 and moved two games ahead on the rest of the NFC in the race for home-field advantage and hold the tiebreakers over New Orleans (9-3) and Carolina (9-3).
