For the first time since he was selected by the New York Giants with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Saquon Barkley is joining a new team this offseason as he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. And it sounds like he’s excited about the newness he is feeling this offseason.
During a recent press conference, he offered his reaction so far to joining the Philadelphia Eagles, saying that he “feels like a rookie again” as he learns the ropes with his new team.
“We’re all just coming in, buying in, trying to learn the playbook, learning the system, trying to get better each day,” Barkley said, via the team’s website. “You know there is a lot of talent, a lot of talent before I got here. I feel I can only add to that. At the same time, you can’t look too far. That’s the beauty of it. That’s the beauty of coming in every single day, working with each other, pushing each other.”
This will obviously be the first time in his career that he has played for a team that is not the New York Giants. We’ll have to see how Barkley fares in Philadelphia.
