This offseason, Saquon Barkley made the somewhat surprising decision to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles after playing for the division-rival New York Giants for the first several years of his career, but it sounds like Barkley thinks Philadelphia is a great fit for him.
During a recent appearance on the New Heights podcast, Saquon Barkley sent a pretty clear message to the Philadelphia Eagles and the city of Philadelphia about just how excited he is to join the organization and be a part of the city.
“I probably never imagined myself playing for Philly six years ago, but I get to come back to Pennsylvania, my family is from Pennsylvania, my lady, our kids, grandmas all that is from Pennsylvania and we’re already close and we can even get to get closer and get a chance to compete. I got to admire them from afar, admire what he was able to build over there and get to be part of that culture. It was a no-brainer for me,” Barkley said according to the New York Post.
Barkley has established himself as one of the top running backs in the entire league. We’ll have to see how he performs for the Eagles this upcoming season.
