On Friday, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that same-sex couples have a Constitutional right to marry. Many athletes celebrated the decision. One football player made an idiot out of himself.
And, unsurprisingly given their city’s presence when it comes to LGBT issues, the San Francisco 49ers tweeted out a small but straightforward gesture of support for the Supreme Court’s ruling.

Sure, posting a message on Twitter is about as #millenialactivism as it gets but one should give the 49ers props for having the courage to post anything at all. A quick review of all other NFL teams’ Twitter accounts reveals that, as of this writing, the 49ers are the first and only team to acknowledge the Court’s decision on Twitter today.
