The Seattle Seahawks added former Washington Commanders starting quarterback Sam Howell by way of a trade this offseason. And even though he will not be the starting quarterback for the team this upcoming season, it sounds like he’s still happy to be joining the roster.
During a recent press conference this week, Sam Howell spoke out about his move from Washington to Seattle, making it clear that the Seahawks were a team he wanted to join if he was going to be traded.
“Once I got the idea that me being traded was a possibility, Seattle was one of those places that I wanted to come be a part of,” Howell said according to Pro Football Talk. “I’m just super-excited to be here and I think Coach Mike [Macdonald has] done a great job of starting to build this thing, so this is definitely one of those places that even coming out of the draft I wanted to come to. I just love being in this city. I love being a part of this team and I’m just excited to get to work.”
Howell is expected to serve as the backup quarterback to starter Geno Smith this upcoming season.
