New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees got the chance to line up in the Wild Card formation at wide receiver on Sunday, doing his absolute best not to get hurt during the offensive switch.
Check out Brees lineup on the right side of the field, not moving a single inch while lining up at wide receiver. A Philly special, this play was not.
It makes little sense for the 39-year-old QB to risk injury on the play, but still, it’s hilarious to see him line up on the side of the Saints offense just to stand completely still during the play.
Brees didn’t finish with a catch during New Orleans 28-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, he completed nearly 80 percent of his passes, finishing with a passing TD, one pick and a rushing TD. I’m sure both Brees and the Saints crew are completely fine with the no-movement on the trick play. God forbid, anything would happen to the MVP-candidate quarterback on a Wild Cat play. That would be a disaster of epic proportions.
