As the New Orleans Saints look for their next head coach after firing Dennis Allen during the season, it sounds like Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has separated from the pack a little bit.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Kellen Moore joins Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady in earning a second interview with the New Orleans Saints.

“The #Saints have a busy end to this week and beginning of next week, sources say, as they hope to add to their interview list by speaking a second time, in-person, with Joe Brady and Kellen Moore,” Rapoport said in a post on X.

“Add those to Mike McCarthy, Anthony Weaver, and Mike Kafka. And maybe more.”

Moore earned his first job as an NFL coordinator with the Dallas Cowboys, serving as the team’s offensive coordinator from 2019 to 2022.

Following his time with the Cowboys, Moore spent the 2023 season leading the Los Angeles Chargers offense before joining the Eagles ahead of this season.

Obviously, the Saints are still considering quite a few options for their head coaching vacancy, but by earning a second interview, it’s clear that Moore is a very serious candidate that the team wants to move forward in the process.

We’ll have to see how the coaching search continues for the Saints and whether or not Moore ultimately earns the job.
