Later this month, Russell Wilson will be officially released from the Denver Broncos and free to sign with any team he chooses. And it sounds like there’s a good chance he could stay in the same division.
According to Cecil Lammey of DenverSports.com, Russell Wilson is interested in signing with the Las Vegas Raiders.
“I’m told Russell Wilson is open to signing with the Raiders – and he’s being advised to do so by those close to him. Broncos could be facing their former quarterback 2X per year,” Lammey said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

This would obviously be a bit of a surprise because it would keep Wilson in the same division where he would face his former Denver Broncos squad twice a season, but it would make sense for the Raiders who have made it quite clear that they in need of a quarterback.
Though rookie Aidan O’Connell started for the team for the majority of the 2023 season after the Raiders benched Jimmy Garoppolo, the team has made it very clear during press conferences that they intend to sign or draft a new quarterback.
Perhaps Wilson is their guy.
