The Baltimore Ravens were able to largely shut down the Houston Texans during their Week 1 matchup, beating Houston 25-9 to open the season. As the teams now prepare for a rematch in the playoffs, Ravens star linebacker Roquan Smith acknowledges that the Texans have improved greatly, but he thinks his team is ready for them.
During a press conference this week, Roquan Smith had a pretty clear message for the Houston Texans, saying that he and his team are “ready to go to war” against the Texans this weekend.
“I think they’re definitely improved, but so are we when you look at it . . . The offense is definitely clicking, but we wouldn’t want it any other way,” Smith said according to the Baltimore Ravens team website. “We’re prepared for it, and we’re ready to go to war regardless of who it’s against, and they’re the team that’s coming in here. Business is is business handled.”
Obviously, the Texans offense has come alive in recent weeks as rookie sensation C.J. Stroud has become more experienced and comfortable in the NFL game. We’ll have to see how Smith and the Ravens handle it when the face off against the young quarterback this weekend.
