Former LSU Tigers star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals and emerged as a legitimate superstar his first season in the league. And it sounds like New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton expects rookie receiver Malik Nabers to follow that same trajectory.
During a recent appearance on the All Facts No Brakes podcast with Keyshawn Johnson, Darius Slayton claimed that Malik Nabers, who is also from LSU, is “like a clone” of Ja’Marr Chase.
“He’s looked good,” Slayton said according to Pro Football Talk. “Honestly in my opinion he reminds me of Ja’Marr Chase, it’s like a clone. Malik’s about six-foot, they’re about the same size,” said Slayton. “Dimensionaly they’re about the same, his body movements, it’s actually kind of weird watching him move around. He’s really talented, he’s got good hands. For us, our system, the biggest hiccup as a rookie is trying to get down all these terminologies Daboll has for us. Once he gets all that down, you know I think he’ll have no problem having success.”
Obviously, the Giants will hope that his career plays out how Chase’s has so far with the Cincinnati Bengals.
