Robert Griffin III has gone from the one of the most popular and sought-after quarterbacks in the game to one of the most confusing and least promising in just two years.
The Redskins signal-caller chatted with Alex Parker of WJLA 7 and it was Griffin that made one very bold proclamation:
I don’t feel like I have to come out here and show anybody anything or why I’m better than this guy or better than that guy. It’s more about going out and affirming that for me, I go out and I play, I know I’m the best quarterback on this team. I feel like I’m the best quarterback in the league and I have to go out and show that,” he said. “Any athlete at any level, if they concede to someone else, they’re not a top competitor, they’re not trying to be the best that they can be. There’s guys in this league that have done way more than me. But, I still view myself as the best because that’s what I work toward every single day.”
We love the confidence and his drive toward perfection but it’s impossible to see his argument for being the best in the game.
The former Heisman Trophy winner dazzled during his rookie season in 2012 but has started just 20 games over the last two years, throwing 20 touchdowns to 18 interceptions. He has battled injuries, ineffectiveness and loads of rumors that his head coach, Jay Gruden, isn’t the biggest fan of his.
