New Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan is tasked with returning the team to the playoffs for the first time since the Music City Miracle in 1999. That was also Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas’ last season with the team before playing a final season with the Dolphins in 2000.
The running back played for the Bills from 1988-1999, a time in which they won 11 playoff games and made four straight Super Bowl appearances. Granted, the Bills did lose all four Super Bowls but it still represents one of two periods of sustained competitive football in franchise history, with the other being their two AFL titles in 1964 and 1965.
Maybe Rex Ryan is hoping that Thomas can bring a little luck back to Buffalo by wearing his jersey to the NFL Scouting Combine this weekend:
And in case you can’t see from there, he’s chatting with Bill Belichick who is wearing a hoodie with Bill Belichick’s name on it.
