Patrick Willis was a beast: 950 tackles, 20.5 sacks, seven trips to the Pro Bowl and AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2007. He was been voted by Athlon as the 22nd-best linebacker of all time, despite his career only lasting eight years. And now, Willis is looking to tackle…the tech world?
Two months after announcing his retirement from the NFL in 2015, Patrick Willis joined Open Source Storage, an infrastructure solutions group based in Silicon Valley. He’s currently executive vice president of partnerships, working out business deals with other corporations as his black turtleneck sweater struggles to hold in his Atlas-like figure. This plan had apparently been in the works before his retirement became official, as Open Source Storage’s CEO, Eren Niazi, just happens to be his neighbor.
With a year under his belt taking on the tech world, here’s hoping Patrick continues his rampage through the tech world. Work hard, though, as a certain Terry Tate has still set the precedent for linebackers in the business world:
