John Ray Bartgis passed away after a fight with lung cancer on Monday at the age of 52. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Described in his obituary as a “diehard Redskins fan”, Bartgis had one final wish for his beloved 3-6 team. It’s pretty great.
John was also a diehard Washington Redskins fan, and one of his final wishes was that the team members would be his pallbearers so they can let him down one last time.
Masterstroke.
According to WUSA 9, Bartgis served in the National Guard for 12 years as a staff sergeant. Aside from taking shots at his favored NFL team, he was also apparently a fan of motorsports.
Funeral services for Bartgis were held yesterday according to Monaghan Funerals.
