The Baltimore Ravens have made it this far, but they may be without one of their star players this weekend.
As the Ravens prepare to face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, Lamar Jackson and Baltimore are prepared to potentially go into this weekend without one of their key players.
Once again, wide receiver Zay Flowers, a standout player out of Boston College, missed practice on Friday. With Baltimore and Buffalo scheduled this weekend, Flowers is running out of time. And so are the Ravens, who may have to hope to get through this weekend to see Flowers on the field again.
Pro Football Talk reported Friday that Flowers missed Ravens practice. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network said Friday on Good Morning Football that Flowers was trending to be out as well.
So in other words, the Ravens may have to move on without their star player this weekend against the Bills.
The Ravens have ‘super’ dreams this season. Baltimore has won two Super Bowls in the 2000s, but haven’t gotten the elusive third with the great Jackson under center. The former Heisman winner is also a former two-time NFL MVP, and is out to chase his third and second consecutive this season.
Baltimore and Buffalo are out to punch a ticket in the AFC Championship Game. They will face the winner of the other Divisional Round matchup between the Houston Texans and top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs. A potential trip to Arrowhead awaits, but if the Texans knock the Chiefs off, either Buffalo or Baltimore will host the AFC Championship.
Baltimore just did that last season and came up empty. We’ll see if they can do it this time, but whether Flowers is there will play a big role.
