The Los Angeles Rams are heading back to the NFL Playoffs. But as they learned after the final whistle, they’ll make the trip to the postseason shorthanded. .
The Rams got the news they feared on Sunday. Rookie running back Blake Corum left the game with an arm injury. It turns out the former Michigan Wolverines star broke his forearm, so he’ll miss the entire NFL Playoffs.
The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue reported the news, citing Rams head coach Sean McVay, who revealed the news on his rookie star.
“Blake Corum has a fractured forearm, per McVay,” Rodrigue said. “He’s out for the playoffs.” Rodrigue posted the news on Bluesky.

Corum finished his rookie season with 56 carries, 197 yards, and no touchdowns scored. He also caught six receptions for 46 yards. That followed a sensational career at the University of Michigan, where he became a fan favorite for life. Corum helped the Wolverines win the 2023 National Championship, and scored the game-winning touchdown in the Rose Bowl Game over Alabama. Corum’s Wolverines recently defeated the Crimson Tide yet again, this time in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
Regardless of Corum’s stats this year, it’s a tough blow to go into the postseason shorthanded. He may not be the primary running back in LA, but Corum’s been a strong complement. And now his presence simply can’t be accounted for.
The Rams will have to regroup now with the news that Corum is finished for the postseason. Expect even more out of Kyren Williams, and likely a good load from Ronnie Rivers too.
LA will host the loser of Lions-Vikings on Monday, January 13 as part of Wild Card Weekend.
