Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby appeared to start saying a certain very bad word before catching himself in a video released on social media Thursday evening.

The Raiders are in shambles as an organization. Following a 3-5 start, which includes a loss on Monday night to the Detroit Lions, owner Mark Davis fired head coach Josh McDaniel and several of his assistants. Interim head coach Antonio Pierce also made a change at quarterback, benching starter Jimmy Garoppolo for Aidan O’Connell.

Perhaps that’s why the team had star defensive end Crosby record a video on their official social media account Thursday night to try and get fans excited about this fresh start in the 2023 NFL season.

While the message was a positive one, it sounded to a lot of people like the Raiders star almost said the n-word in the middle of his diatribe. Listen for yourself:

“Raider Nation, what is up? It’s Maxx Crosby in the building. Just got done with practice. I just wanna say Sunday y’all…need to be out at Alliegient in full effect.”

It’s that moment in between “y’all” and “need” that has some people thinking Crosby almost said a very different word. Those same people wonder why and how the Raiders social media team let the video go up as-is, even if he didn’t say what it sounded like he almost said.

Some people did come to Crosby’s defense.

What do you think?
