The Miami Dolphins selected running back Jaylen Wright in the fourth round of the NFL Draft, adding another player to a running backs room that already features Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane. But it doesn’t sound like Mostert is too worried about the new addition to the team.
On Tuesday, Raheem Mostert addressed the “draft drama” saying that his initial reaction was “whatever it is, it is,” but now he has taken the approach of “the more the merrier.”
“Being able to have another guy coming in the mix and bring his attributes and his contributions into the offense — and the speed is definitely going to be very beneficial on our part,” Mostert said according to Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post. “Because now we can line up and we could use three backs, you know, out there at one point with a receiver and maybe a tight end as well. So, there’s a lot of different things that you can do.”
Mostert and Achane make up what emerged as probably the most electric running back combination in the entire league last season as the pair combined for more than 1,800 yards in Miami’s high-powered offense. We’ll have to see how Wright now fits into that rotation.
