Cris Carter sparked a bit of outrage after video surfaced of him telling 2014 rookies they need to have a “fall guy” in case they get in trouble.
Former NFL receiver Plaxico Burress caught wind of Carter’s statements, and he’s none too pleased. He went on a quick Twitter rant about the subject Monday night.
Wow! I guess I didn't have a "fall guy". @NFL #rookiesymposium

In all seriousness, I've made some choices that have resulted in some consequences that I can never get back. BUT, not one time did I blame

Fall Guy. That was a TV when I was growing up.

Bottom line, you can't tell @nfl rookies nothing like that. We suppose to be helping them, not advising them to to have a Fall Guy. Unreal

I glad my son wasn't sitting in that @nfl rookie symposium. 💯

Burress was arrested after accidentally shooting himself in a New York nightclub in 2008, so it’s a topic that likely hits close to home for him.
