Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback Kenny Pickett did not exactly live up to expectations last year, ultimately leading the team to start Mason Rudolph in his place down the stretch. Mike Tomlin made it pretty clear that they intended to have a competition for the starting quarterback role this offseason, and it sounds like that could involve bringing in another player.
This week, the Pittsburgh Steelers met with top free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson after the Denver Broncos officially decided to part ways with him this week, and it sounds like those talks went well.
“Heard Russell Wilson had a great meeting in Pittsburgh so far. I was told he sat with #Steelers OC Arthur Smith ‘for hours’ and that ‘he looked happy.’ I was also told Wilson ‘did his homework’ reaching out to some players in advance, per source,” Anderson said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

“Mike Tomlin moves like the ‘g’ in lasagna, so we’ll see how much carryover there is after RW retreats to his quarters,” Anderson continued.
Obviously, this is pretty significant news for the Steelers as they consider their future at the sport’s most important position.

Bring him in. Literally 0 risk in signing him to a vet minimum https://t.co/1EtTLG2MFA

They can say "Wilson would be Pickett's" backup all they want but if they sign him it's to be their starter. https://t.co/PKTRojfaKg
