The Pittsburgh Steelers seem to be in need at the quarterback position after Kenny Pickett did not quite live up to expectations last season, ultimately leading the team to start Mason Rudolph down the stretch and into the playoffs even once Pickett was healthy. As a result, the Steelers brought in one of the top free agent quarterbacks for a visit, and it sounds like it went well.
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, the Pittsburgh Steelers met with Russell Wilson this week after the Denver Broncos officially decided to part ways with him. And it sounds like the talks were positive.
“Heard Russell Wilson had a great meeting in Pittsburgh so far. I was told he sat with #Steelers OC Arthur Smith ‘for hours’ and that ‘he looked happy.’ I was also told Wilson ‘did his homework’ reaching out to some players in advance, per source,” Anderson said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

“Mike Tomlin moves like the ‘g’ in lasagna, so we’ll see how much carryover there is after RW retreats to his quarters,” Anderson continued.
While it’s not clear exactly where Wilson will choose to sign, it does seem like the Steelers would be a good fit if that’s his choice.
