As NFL teams and players across the league celebrate Black History Month, the Philadelphia Eagles shared a stat that the team is particularly proud of, especially during during the historic month.
On Monday, the Eagles pointed out that the team has more starts by Black quarterbacks than any other franchise in the NFL.
“Making history. No NFL team has had more starts by African American QBs,” the Philadelphia Eagles official account wrote in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

As the graphic the team shared points out, the team has started 396 games with a Black quarterback leading the team, which is more than any other NFL team throughout the league.
Obviously, this number includes current starting quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has made 56 starts throughout his NFL career. It also includes Donovan McNabb with 158, Randall Cunningham with 112, Michael Vick with 41, Rodney Peete with 26, and Vince Young with three.
It’s a pretty significant and historic mark that means a lot to the team and the players, especially during Black History Month. And as long as Hurts stays the starting quarterback, this number is only going to continue going up in the future.
